Can anyone join the marathon?
Anyone who has reached the age of 18 can apply and participate in the marathon. Participants who have reached the age of 16 on the day of the event may participate in the event if their parents are present and have written consent.
Is it possible to cover such a distance if I have little experience on SUP?
Yes, you can cover 100 kilometers with SUP in a day even if you don’t have much experience in SUP paddling. However, it is recommended to have good physical fitness and determination to reach the finish line. Remember that the river’s current will come to your rescue. It’s worth pacing yourself evenly to ensure energy for the entire distance – paddle consistently and avoid rushing at the beginning.
Will it be possible to receive support on the river during the marathon?
Yes, every 20-30 km along the banks of the Salaca river, there will be stopping points where you can refill water bottles, charge your phone, engage with the king in the settlements of the kings, or simply take a break. If your physical and mental resources are exhausted, you can withdraw from the competition at these points, with organizers ensuring you and your equipment reach the finish line.
If you encounter a significant problem, call the helpline provided by the organizer or seek assistance from other participants. Organizers will remotely track your location using GPS.
Is it possible to rent SUP equipment for the marathon?
Yes, at the start, it will be possible to rent and buy life jackets, waterproof bags in different sizes, SUP leashes, SUP boards, and paddles. It’s recommended to reserve SUP boards in advance by contacting Supfit.lv – [email protected]
How long do I have to finish?
You have to cover the marathon distance within 24 hours.
When should you arrive for the start?
The start is on the morning of May 3 at 7:00 am. Registration closes at 6:00, and the participants’ meeting begins, where organizers will inform about the event’s progress. Arrive early enough to register, receive a number, and join the meeting by 6:00.
You can also arrive the night before and spend the night in a tent or your car. Registration and number collection will be available on the evening of May 2.
Will it be possible to stay overnight close to the starting point so that you don’t have to travel far in the morning?

How much does it cost to participate in the event?
To be registered, a participant must pay an entry fee. After completing the electronic registration form, an invoice is sent to the participant’s email within 48 hours.
The participation fee in the event is:
Applying until September 15, 2024 – €49
Applying until November 30, 2024 – €59
Applying until December 31, 2024 – €69
Applying until April 15 – €79
Applying before May 1 – €89
Applying on May 2 and 3 – €99
In Team disciplines, the participation fee must be paid for each participant separately.
What should I take with me on the adventure?
Of course, bring a SUP board and paddle, leash, and a certified life/safety vest. Additionally, participants must have:
A minimum first aid kit,
Waterproof bag/sack for belongings,
A charged mobile phone,
“Power bank” to fully charge your phone at least once,
A headlamp or other lamp for paddling in the dark,
At least 2 liters of drinking water,
Identification document.

Do I need to bring food?
Yes, you have to bring your own food. Drinking water and small snacks will be available at support points on the river.
When choosing food for the distance, pay attention to its nutritional value. You will need energy for such a long distance, so it is better to take food with a high carbohydrate content.
At the finish, you will not only receive a medal but also a delicious and hearty surprise from the organizers.
Will there be any transport available to get the participants between the finish and the start?
Yes, the organizers will provide transport from the finish point back to the start, allowing participants to reach their transport if it is left at the start. Transportation will be available at 2-4 hour intervals and will depend on the number of participants and transportation demand.
It will be possible to hand over belongings to the organizers at the start and receive them at the finish line.
If, for some reason, you withdraw or finish at one of the support points on the riverbank, transport to the finish or start will be available.
